Cat Nap

Kyou panted heavily, his lungs aching in protest as he ran on the crowded sidewalk, shoulding pass the pedestrians who were unfortunate enough to not move out of the charging redhead's way. The teen ignored the angered outcries, subconsciously avoiding any females, only knowing he had to keep moving, to make it back to Shigure's house.

Ignoring the sweat beading upon his brow under the weekend sun, the cat jyuunishi banged open the house's front door, and made quick work of getting into his room, not asnwering Tohru's greeting or her question as to what was wrong.

Entering the safety of his room, Kyou took a moment to lean against his closed door, gasping for air. He swore to himself that this time he would not surrender; he would prevail! The garnet-eyed boy crossed his room to peak out his window, eyes widening in fear as he stared outside. "No," he whispered, skin paling in horror.

Backing away from the window, the cat bared his teeth and pointed a shaky finger to the sun-glared glass, "I won't go down without a fight!"

In the kitchen, Shigure sat with Yuki at the dining table, lazily fanning himself as their brunette houseguest prepared lunch. A loud cry of defeat rang from the upper level, followed immediately by a heavy thud that disrupted the peaceful silence of the house. The quiet returned after a few moments, as though it had never disappeared.

Tohru paused in her cooking to look at the ceiling, before turning her concerned brown gaze to the dog and rat, both who seemed unfazed by the strange noises, "Anou... is Kyou-san all right?"

Shigure sat his fan down and delivered a reassuring smile to the young girl, "Maa, maa, he is fine, Tohru-san, don't fret. I'm surprised you haven't witnessed this sooner."

The violet-eyed teen sipped calmly from his tea cup before explaining to the kind-hearted girl, "The stupid cat just suffered a nap attack is all it was. The idiot always fights them, even when he knows it's futile."

"Oh," Tohru smile and returned to stirring the miso soup, satisfied that all was well in her world.
