A/N: Not originally from my own mind, I was bored, finally had a nice glass of wine and ice cream, it's two am after a day of sickness and mourning, so of course to prevent dark thoughts I might actually do *takes deep breath* I'm attempting to humor myself. So there! *nyaah* .... oh, yeah, the point of this note is that I actually got this idea from the comic strip by Mary, web-mistress of Dark King Productions. Look in the extras page and then in humor. I'm not going to tell which one it is specifically, because they're all pretty funny, and are a laugh to look at. ^_^ I like her sense of humor, though I usually prefer more morbid ones....
At the mall, there are literally hundreds of people, mainly on the weekends. Teens having fun, going on dates, parents escaping from the day, and the average working joe. This mall was no different from many other earth malls, the loud chatter of people, not acknowledging the strangers they walked passed as they continued on in their days and lives. The glass dome on the roof served to shine in the daylight of the warm, perfectly cloudless day to the shoppers.
So, it is understandable that many nearby people, who had less tolerance than the average person, winced and rubbed their ears as a loud squeal of excitement penetrated the air, and overpowering the chatterbox the building had turned into.
Dorothy blushed to herself as many people glared at her and her companion as they entered the toystore. Sure, everyone likes a little attention, but having your best friend make the sound of a six year old instead of the eighteen year old she was could be very embarrassing. Not that she didn't do it on occasion too, but she was outgrowing it. With a heart-felt sigh, she ignored the irrate people and turned to the other blond, "Relena..." she spoke in a warning tone.
Relena Darlian paid no heed to the threat, instead she had her hands pressed against the display case, cornflower eyes wide. A large grin was on her face as her eyes darted over the items locked inside. "They are so adorable!" The vice-foreign minister grabbed Dorothy's arm, pulling her over, "Fresh from the market... should we get some?"
The Catalonia heiress looked at the items with a bored eye, but the light of interest was there. "Those things are as annoying as hell. You're fast asleep then that insistant beeping occurs and you have to waste your life away caring for it-"
Relena huffed, rolling her eyes, "Kitty, you make it sound like a baby, not a Tomodachi."
Dorothy smirked, tapping her fingertips on the glass, "This is probably why the guys have been hiding for a while. I bet they aren't even getting a percentage off of this shameless advertising the greedy businessmen are doing. I'm surprised we haven't heard of Gundam attacks recently with the head guys as the targets."
"Aw, c'mon, admit it. You want a Gundam Guy Tomodachi." The blue-eyed girl smirked knowingly, nodding her head lightly in the direction of the case. "They have a Quatre one."
With a tsking sound, Dorothy crossed her arms, "You make it sound like I have a crush on the hypocritical pacifist."
That got a surprised blink. "You don't?"
"Lina, I stabbed the guy! That isn't a sign that I want to marry him and have the 2.7 kids in a lovely cottage with a picked fence! If anything, I find him as an acquaintance, turning into a partial friend." She decided to send a jab of her own. "Besides, I'm not the type to go stalking guys who point guns at me and threaten my life."
Relena had the decency to blush at that. "It was just a crush... and it only lasted...." her face turned redder. "Let's change the subject."
"Still can't get the image out of your mind? I admitt, you looked horrified when you walked in on them."
Relena's face was now a glowing red light bulb, "Like I should mind if he's in a relationship with Catherine. At least it's not with Trowa.... why are you blushing, Cat?"
:Won't tell her, promised not to tell her, Heero wants to see the look on her face first...: "Just remembering the Garfield comic in today's paper."
"Okay...." Relena brightened instnatly, the blush only a faint stain on her cheeks now. "So, wanna give them a try? Just to see how it is? And if we decide we don't like them, we can give them to Mariemaia. Une could deal with them then, ne?"
Dorothy groaned, then walked to the clerk. "Excuse me, we would like to buy some of those Tomodachi toys?"
The freckled clerk gave them a charming smile as he walked to the case, keys in hand. "You're lucky you got here before the commercials rolled tomorrow. We probably would have been sold out for months if you hadn't. The girl ones should come out in about four months, just so you know."
Surprised looks followed that comment. "What?! Didn't they ask permission?"
"They didn't see any point to it." the clerk admitted, then opened the glass door. "Which ones?"
Relena smiled, "One of each for me. Cat?"
Dorothy shook her head. "Which one needs the least care?"
The clerk had his hands full with seven different Tomodachi's, humming to himself. "Well, Pilot 013 likes to preen a lot, and 06 has a problem of going real angsty along with also preening. So those will need a lot of help. 05 complains all the time, but responds well to being doted on. 04 is usually pretty easy to take care of and likes to sing and play music, so that noise is disrupting. 03 and 01 require the least attention, but they do have a problem of self-detonating alot, so it's best to not activate them until the Dr. Po Tomodachi comes out and she can heal them." He smiled at the two girls. "You can hook them up with another Tomodachi to interact, which they need to do or else they get depressed and die. You can always reset them if they do, the instructions will tell you how. Lastly, 02 is the hardest to care for at times. He likes attention, but he also has a tendancy to... well, if you see him grow bat wings and a scythe, don't be too surprised. Just don't hook him up to any of the other Tomodachis until he returns to normal. If you do, he won't be responsible for the other's death."
Relena gaped, "Wow, the creators really captured the personalities..."
Dorothy grimaced after the clerk gave her the rundown on what each Tomodachi is like. "Maybe I'll pass-"she paused as the other Tomodachis' caught her eye, "What about those?"
--Three Weeks Later--
Relena cooed and baby-talked to her Wufei Tomodachi, happy to see that he was eating the food she gave him. "Aww, I never knew how much I could love all the guys when they depend on me..." she frowned, "Even though I'm losing sleep because of their noises..."
Dorothy was sitting on the vice-foreign minister's bed, playing with her own Tomodachi. "Good boy!! You're growing so fast, I'm so proud of you!!" A beeping made both girls turn to their respective Tomodachis to check on them. "Sorry 'bout that." Dorothy murmured, taking care of the 'crying' one's needs. "I swear, Wolfwood can be such a ham..."
Relena grimaced, "At least he hasn't tried to kill Vash. Duo and Quatre really love fighting with each other, especially when one's in the Zero mode and the other's in God of Death mode."
Dorothy laughed at that, "Do you honestly think Wolfy is going to attack an immortal gun-armed young man who has an obsession with donuts?"
~owari~
A/N: .... as much as I don't like Tomodachis *grimaces as she looks at her pile of broken Tomo's*, I wouldn't mind having Trigun and Gundam Wing ones. Maybe I should make a sequel to this piece where the girl Tomodachi's come in... *looks at webpage that is full of cobwebs due to lack of visits* Naah....
